Understand scalping techniques, fee considerations, and psychological requirements to evaluate if scalping suits you.
Scalping is an ultra-short-term trading strategy where positions are held for seconds to minutes, aiming to profit from tiny price movements repeatedly. A scalper may execute dozens or even hundreds of trades per day.
Entries and exits must be swift and decisive. Hesitation and delays significantly impact performance. Requires stable internet and fast trading interfaces.
Only trade the highest liquidity pairs (BTC/USDT, ETH/USDT). Low liquidity causes slippage that erodes thin profits.
Scalping profit margins are razor-thin, making fees a major factor. Ensure expected profit exceeds fee costs. Use limit orders (Maker) for lower fee rates.
Monitor bid/ask distribution to identify short-term supply-demand imbalances. Large orders may form temporary support/resistance.
Follow the direction of rapid price movement, entering at peak momentum. Typically uses 1-minute or 5-minute candles.
When price deviates too far from the mean in the short term, expect it to revert. Works best in ranging markets.
